Overload Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Overload ("Overload", "the app", "we", "our", or "us") handles personal information. Overload is operated by Brecken Davies, an independent developer based in the United Kingdom.
Overload is available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Our public website is https://getoverload.com.

2. Information we collect
We collect information that is needed to provide the app's core features. We do not collect contacts, precise location, microphone data, camera data, or advertising identifiers for advertising purposes.
2.1 Account information
- Email address
- Password authentication information, stored securely by our authentication provider; we do not see or store your plaintext password
- Account creation date and sign-in information
2.2 Profile and onboarding information
Depending on what you choose to enter during onboarding or inside your profile, we may collect:
- Display name
- Gender
- Age
- Height
- Current body weight and goal body weight
- Preferred weight unit, such as kilograms or pounds
- Activity level
- Training experience
- Training goal, goal timeframe, and weekly training target
- Optional survey responses, such as how you discovered Overload
2.3 Training data
To provide workout tracking and progress features, we may collect:
- Programs you select, import, create, or edit
- Workout sessions
- Exercises, sets, reps, weights, and related training entries
- Workout dates, start times, completion times, and session durations
- Training notes and custom notes you write in the app
- Strength tracking entries
- Recovery score entries
- Workout streaks, consistency data, and progress statistics generated from your training history
2.4 Nutrition, macro, and bodyweight data
If you use Overload's nutrition or bodyweight features, we may collect:
- Calorie and macronutrient targets
- Protein, carbohydrate, and fat targets or entries
- Bodyweight log entries
- Bodyweight goal and progress data
2.5 Technical and security information
Our backend and hosting providers may process limited technical information needed to keep the app secure and operational, such as:
- IP address and request timestamps
- Authentication, rate-limiting, and abuse-prevention logs
- Basic device, browser, or platform information where necessary for security, debugging, or app functionality
- Error or crash information if provided by the platform or sent as part of a support request
3. How we use your information
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve Overload. This includes:
- Creating and securing your account
- Signing you in and keeping your data associated with your account
- Saving your workouts, programs, notes, macros, bodyweight logs, recovery scores, and strength tracking data
- Showing your progress, history, statistics, and consistency inside the app
- Calculating suggested macro or calorie targets from information you provide
- Providing customer support
- Detecting and preventing abuse, fraud, and security incidents
- Complying with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising. We do not use your personal information to train third-party AI models.
If you are in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, our legal bases for processing your information are: providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the app, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where required.
4. Who we share information with
We do not sell your data. We share information only with service providers needed to run Overload, or where required by law.
- Supabase — provides database, authentication, and backend infrastructure used to store and secure your app data.
- Vercel — hosts our public website and privacy policy. Vercel does not receive your in-app workout account data from Overload.
- Apple — distributes the iOS app through the App Store and may process platform-level information under Apple's own policies.
- Google — distributes the Android app through Google Play and may process platform-level information under Google's own policies.
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Overload, our users, or others.
5. How long we retain your data
We retain your account information, profile data, workout data, program data, notes, macro data, recovery data, strength data, and bodyweight data for as long as your Overload account remains active. This allows your training history and progress to remain available when you return to the app or use Overload across devices.
When you delete your account, your account and associated personal data are removed from our active production database. If residual copies exist in infrastructure backups or security logs, they are removed according to our hosting provider's backup and log retention cycles, typically within 30 days.
We may retain fully anonymised or aggregated statistics that cannot reasonably identify you, such as general usage counts or total numbers of workouts completed across the app. This information is not personal data and cannot be linked back to your account.
6. How to delete your account and data
You can delete your Overload account and associated data at any time from inside the app.
Option A — Delete inside the app
- Open Overload and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Open Settings.
- Open Account Removal.
- Select Delete Account and confirm.
Once deletion is confirmed, your account and associated personal data are removed from our active production database and you are signed out. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Option B — Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion by emailing breckendavies@gmail.com from the email address linked to your Overload account. Use the subject line Delete my Overload account.
We will process deletion requests within 30 days of receipt, and usually sooner.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a portable copy of your data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

If you are in the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information, including:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for data transmitted between the app and our backend
- Secure authentication through our backend provider
- Password handling that does not expose plaintext passwords to us
- Database access controls designed so users can only access their own account data
- Limited administrative access
No system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal data, we will take appropriate action in line with applicable law.
9. Children
Overload is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an Overload account, contact us at breckendavies@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete the account and associated data.
If you are under the age of majority in your country, you should use Overload only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
10. International users and data location
Overload is operated from the United Kingdom. Our backend infrastructure and website hosting providers may process data in the United Kingdom, the European Union, the United States, or other regions where our service providers operate.
By using Overload, you understand that your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
If we make material changes to how we handle your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as through the app or by email where appropriate.
